D4: The purpose of burning books is to prevent others from reading them
Make no mistake, intentionally buying these books in order to compost them is the equivalent of book burning. The author celebrating his alternative form of book burning is a former editorial board member of the New York Times. He is bragging about it in the Washington Post.
That should tell you about the commitment to free speech the modern American press has.
D6: The greatest tweet about Dungeons & Dragons ever
D&D Twitter is sometimes not great. But this is one of the best distillations of why I play I have ever read.
D8: Writing Custom Cross-Platform Applications
I’ve been interested in Electron on and off for a while. I’m not happy with my spreadsheets for tracking my writing. I started to build a database app with LibreOffice, but wasn’t happy with that either. So I am back to looking at Electron.
D12: A New Science Fiction and Fantasy Forum
The Geek Galaxy is new and not very active, but one old regular at the Baen Bar says it reminds her of it.
D20: Driving Productivity
Cedar Sanderson had a very interesting post on writing and word counts. As someone well off the wagon trying to get back on, it was helpful.
Book of the Week
New feature, in addition to videos and song, why not share a book. I am a writer, even if I’m just an obscure S-list one.
This week’s book is a collection I completed earlier this month as part of my Bradbury Challenge reading. The Eye of Sonnu collects swords and sorcery tales by Schuyler Hernstrom. The title is a reference to the first story, which appeared in the first issue of Cirsova. Many of the others appeared in the magazine as well. While I enjoyed some stories more than others, “Images of the Goddess” is my favorite, I cannot say I disliked any of them.
Song of the Week
The second single from Unleash the Archers’s new album Abyss is out. Give a listen to “Soulbound”
Video of the Week
Now that you’ve watched the video, Brittany Slashes is here to update you on the story line.
Faster Than Light has just come out this morning.

I’m afraid I’m not thinking very usefully at the moment. Glad to see you posting again.
I need to get better about checking comments, though.
And the link is fixed. This week’s sharing is also up as well.
