I’m back for the rest of A-Z after an eye issue interfered with post last week.
While back, I’m not back to my topic of learning to write. I think I have something a bit more important to write about. It is this executive order. Please notice that link is to the text at the White House government website.
That is not a conspiracy site or any Alex Jones kind of thing; that is the text disseminated by our own government.
I’m just going to block quote three parts:
All property and interests in property that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of any United States person of the following persons are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in:
That’s fairly stock language to freeze assets, which is a common foreign policy and law enforcement activity.
(a)(ii) responsible for or complicit in, or to have directly or indirectly engaged or attempted to engage in, any of the following for or on behalf of, or for the benefit of, directly or indirectly, the Government of the Russian Federation:
(A) malicious cyber-enabled activities;
(B) interference in a United States or other foreign government election;
(C) actions or policies that undermine democratic processes or institutions in the United States or abroad;
(D) transnational corruption;
That’s part of the definition of whose assets are frozen. Notice the bolding section C.
Now, it is not the government defition, but most social media companies will tell you that any questions whatsoever about last November’s election (although not all those who questioned the November 2016 election) meet this definition.
Now, here is the real kicker:
This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.
If your assets are frozen, the government is arguing you have not legal recourse.
This EO effectively allows the current administration to define opposition as being agents of Russia, RUSSIA (did we fail to give the 80s their foreign policy back?) and freeze the assets of those opposing them.
If you think I’m being alarmist, how would have you reacted to the same EO claiming those who were saying the 2016 election was stolen were acting as agents of China or Iran? Would you have trusted Trump wasn’t going to use it against his domestic opponents? Because I spent four years hearing how Trump was Hitler 2.0 and even speaking against him was endangering your livelihood at the very least.
Yet he never issued an order like this.
Biden did.
Do you trust Biden that much more than you did Trump?
Do you trust Biden to not freeze the bank accounts tied to Ashli Babbit? How about bank accounts tied to Alex Jones? How about the bank accounts of Larry Correia? He had multiple posts arguing the election needed a thorough audit.
I would point out people are already being fired for giving as little as $25 to Kyle Rittenhouse’s defense fund. There isn’t a crime, at least it should not be.
If this isn’t fascism, it’s a close cousin. All you Anti-Fascists who spent four years saying Trump wanted to end our freedoms, will you stand up to it or prove you were fakes all along?
You sound like a Russian troll. All your blog site are belong to us now. 🙂 Just kidding.
This order also seems to allow them to freeze the assets of anyone who interferes in other government’s “democratic processes” outside the US.
Bye bye CIA funding.
Somehow I think the CIA will get a waiver.
